i may not have liked gdt's movie very much but i think his creature and the 2004 creature should hold hands and braid each others hair with flowers and discuss philosophy in a pleasant cottage of their own

Im a little over halfway thru the whole thing but it's so nice finally seeing a Victor that isn't immediately portrayed as this raving madman!! And the creature is so heart-achingly beautiful and sad!! Also Henry ♡♡♡

idk why we've abadoned that scene in favor of lightning and 'it's alive!!!!!' like i get it makes for easy visual drama and filmmakers get caught up on showing us how the monster is created but i'd kill to see a version that's as quiet and horrifying as it's described by victor to be in the book.

i can't get over how abrupt and haunting the scene where the creature awakens is. how victor runs from it and hides in bed, hoping it will just go away, only for it to follow him. so he runs again. and that was the scene shelley first saw, the scene that kept her up at night!
