I find it fun to play strong, competent people - people whose agency can and does make an impact on the material realities they are faced with - but the most fulfilling parts of them have been their growth as people. They've each had to wrestle with their power, what it means to have it.

Lucian on paper is probably my most far-fetched, mary sue-ish concept: a Garlean Winter Soldier-like superspy assassin, a guinea-pig very nearly gone wrong for Zenos' legion. Exceedingly deadly warrior who ... kind of just wants to be loved? Be a star? Leave the extremism of his youth behind?

Mihn'li is my love letter to youthful prodigy. Onei'a has mastered his abilities over decades of study and practice; Mihn'li has been described in combat as a poet, a rare natural talent that's been honed by extreme dedication from a very young age. A frighteningly good swordsman at barely 23.
