One can definitely argue that it was weighted to GOP preferences. Sadly, no matter where you personally place the fair/rational line, Dems/Biden had left themselves politically exposed by not doing enough - whatever that was.

Not only has he not lifted a finger, he has actively fought against rationale, fair immigration reform. Remember the Lankford compromise bill he tanked so he could run against Biden’s immigration record?

Given Trump 1.0, Project 2025, his personal/business histories, etc., the risks/probabilities of his current behavior were apparent to MAGAs/GOP voters with their eyes/ears open.

I agree. At some point a broad strike might be necessary but rn we’re better off with a targeted boycott likely to dramatically succeed and demonstrate our power. The wider the boycott in a continental, diverse nation of 340m, the lower are chances of impactful success

This appears to be a multi purpose arrest. Arrest 2 POC reporters to signal white people aren’t targets, scare all reporters and distract from incomplete Epstein file dump. Supposedly several judges refused to issue a warrant and this somehow went thru a grand jury.

Obama probably had a little more leeway but center-left (vs more progressive) likely allowed him to flip swing states like IN, OH and FL.

When will enough VOTERS reject the right sliding marathon? Dems have won primarily with very calibrated centrist positions that have prevented even more radical right victories. 25% of voters are hopeless. Maybe the reachable 75% will now act and vote for democracy

Expect matters to get way worse between now and November elections/swearing-ins. Trump and MAGA know the clock is ticking for their time in unfettered power and will want to take full advantage.
