I’m not sure there’s a correct or incorrect approach. I’m wrestling with the same question for my digital history course. Having them understand LLMs and poke is valuable for the history of technology and learning about outputs etc. but an opt in/opt out statement and an alternative might help?

I use tropy for archival photographs and transcriptions. I use the google suite for writing because word has crashed too many times, and google docs is a champ. I’m experimenting with obsidian and scrivner.
