in Deus Ex 1, the laser modification for guns will make them 100% accurate when turned on. The scope addon however, makes you have a -10% accuracy penalty to that weapon when not scoped in, making it a bad choice. dev comments say this is to "encourage use of the scope"

there is a UNATCO soldier that walks up to you after you arrest/kill Leo Gold in the first level of Deus Ex and he has an assault rifle. If you knock him out or kill him to take his gun, Manderley comments on it, as if he knows it was you but can't prove it
