A smart friend of mine just noted that so often the real people and places that inspire incredible work get left behind, even when a movie or show makes it big. Sinners was awesome and the people of Clarksdale deserve to share in this moment ❤️
In Clarksdale, there's limited transportation and no movie theater. The town inspired Sinners, but many can't travel to see it in theaters.
They created a petition to invite Ryan Coogler & team to host a public screening and experience the Delta.

Like truly. The bar is in hell, just pick a thing that’s on fire (everything) and be bold about talking about it. Any amount of backbone and gumption is going to get you somewhere.
what booker is doing right now is an example of what i mean when i say things like “we need more ambition right now.” there is room in american politics right now for people with ambition to take big stands and reap the rewards. he’s doing it!
