MSP for Aberdeenshire East since 2016. Acting Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero and Energy in Scottish Government.
Our beautiful force of nature, Christina. I’m utterly devastated. Sending all the strength in the world to Keith and her boys, Lewis and Jack.

The responsibility for this lies with those who released these animals. What a horrible experience for them. And of course a tragic one for the year old juvenile who didn’t survive the ordeal. As I said at the weekend- they’ll have been hungry and thirsty not having the skills to survive in the wild

None of the UK parties are keen to talk about this. There is another way for Scotland…. Voting SNP is the way.

You’ve just got a middle class woman of a certain age viewer back, Masterchef. LOVE Grace Dent.

I’ll miss Humza Yousaf when he leaves politics. A big loss but can’t wait to see what he does after 2026! On a personal note he helped me take my Seatbelts on School Transport Bill through and gave me the honour of my life by appointing me as Minister for Energy. Thank you @humzayousaf.bsky.social

📝 I have written to the Secretary of State for the Department of Work and Pensions about the decision today not to press ahead with compensation for WASPI women.

🫶 This is a terrible injustice and we will do everything in our power to ensure the voices of WASPI women in the north-east are heard.

Merry Christmas from me and my two Christmas card design winners Elsie and Sophie. Elsie introduced a wee bit of Jack Skellington into the traditional fireside scene which I loved, and Sophie went with a Nordic trolls theme which was just outstanding. Enjoy!

Taking away child benefit from 3rd/4th+ children is one of the biggest drivers of child poverty. We campaigned against it when Tory Gov did it (no luck) we asked Labour government to right the wrong (they didn’t). The SNP are now stepping up to reinstate it for your families. If others support it.

It’s taken me 8 years but I’ve finally made it to the Edinburgh Botanic Gardens Christmas lights trail. Just lovely. And with 3 of my faves too.

This just happened on the M8! Joy!

Labour’s Anas Sarwar would like you all to forget it was his party in the UK who took away the Winter Heating Payment from our pensioners. This is smoke and mirrors. His time to save the WFP was weeks ago ahead of the UK Budget-by picking up the phone to Rachel Reeves.

Thoughts with owners of spaniels who are desperate to go out even in this horrible weather- and Maltese who are being forced to go out in this horrible weather against their better judgment ….🌧️🌨️❄️

Thanks to the Herald and Scottish Power for a really good night at the Politician of the Year Awards. Congrats to all winners. Glad Humza got Debater award in particular. And thanks to everyone at my table for the great chat and proof that we’re a pretty collegiate bunch outside FMQs!

Spent the morning at Highland Spring in Blackford. Aiming to further reduce their Carbon footprint in a big way. (I was also impressed how they’ve put in measures to protect the community from any noise associated with their operations- other sectors take note!) Supportive DRS chat in the mix too.

Proud to have taken this bill through parliament with my colleague @jimfairliesnp.bsky.social . Next week it hits the ground and amongst other things it does wild animal snaring is effectively banned in Scotland . 💪 🦊 🐇🦡

A joy to visit the Edinburgh Tool Library in Meadowbank this morning. Set up to give people access to tools, show them how to use them- but so much more! They’ve reached so many diverse groups of Edinburgh residents and genuinely changed lives as well as reducing waste. Plus Kenza the dog was just 😍

Scottish Youth Parliament and the Children’s Parliament came to the Scottish Government cabinet today. From a personal perspective I was pleased that so many of them wanted to talk about climate change. I hope they got loads out of it- and I hope they know how much influence they really have on us.

Good morning from snowy Aberdeenshire.

I’ll join in the cat posting in the spirit of Bluesky. You would never get this primo content from me on X- they don’t deserve it. It’s my monster cat Beau. He’s only 1 year old and we thought we’d measure him. Next year two of us will need to hold him up.

4/many. Scotland was the first country to set up Loss and Damage fund to help communities in the Global South recover from climate related destruction. Reps from Zambia, Malawi and Rwanda joined me at #COP29 to talk about how this has changed lives. It’s not enough to pledge-you need to DELIVER

3/many: One of the best moments of #COP29- we held a roundtable with @LizWathuti and youth climate leaders from the Global South @COP29_AZ.
We discussed the importance of empowering young people who are often hit hardest by the impacts of climate change to be able to advocate and negotiate.

2/many "Scotland is proud to be recognised as a leader in climate finance."

Speaking at a #COP29 Under2 General Assembly on climate finance, Acting Net Zero Secretary I highlighted the importance of funding to tackle and prepare for climate change like our Peatland and Woodland Codes
