Thanks! Seems like a lot of the advice on the topic seems to be to invest in quality drivers with AC-DC converters, but it all sounded rather fragile. Feels like a proper solution would be implementing a converter on the switch side to cover the whole circuit

Wait, what? Is there a specific brand which doesn't use PWM? I had just assumed that that was something I had to learn to live with.

100%. I found this out in a job interview which was going normally until the wrap up, when the interviewer “made small talk” about Brexit and complained specifically that EU regulations make it impossible to fire pregnant women. No mask.
