@katmabu.bsky.social How do we get legislation passed in IL to limit ALPR tracking? Other states have ruled that data must be wiped after 5 minutes unless there is an active warrant. Especially with this case and others involving police misuse, I think it's important to protect our privacy NOW

@govpritzker.illinois.gov let's end the overreach of surveillance by limiting the use of ALPR cameras that have boomed in the state. There is no IL law currently that limits the tracking of citizens with these cameras and they can be used by ICE and other FED agencies. sls.eff.org/technologies...
