I had assumed that anyone making fun of it was making fun of the actors and not the subject matter until I got older and realized they were all making fun of the story.

I wouldn't recommend watching it tbh, especially if you are sensitive to triggers bc the melodrama doesn't cut the impact. I never found it funny watching it, and didn't realize people genuinely considered it a comedy until I saw drag race jokes.

My friends and I have been told we play the "friendliest game of Mario Kart" ever bc we shoot shells only at the computer, if we have to shoot a shell or weapon to get a new one, we aim off the road, and always shout out the blue shells whether we shot it or not.

I think it wasn't intentionally made to be comedic. It was intended to be a psychological melodrama. I feel like a lot of the "comedy" came from people reacting to the overdramatic acting as opposed to the studio actively saying "this is funny"

When our country's guardrails are in place, I believe you. They're gone now though and a blind clown is driving the truck so I wouldn't be surprised if most food in stores becomes a lethal gamble.
