POSSESSOR(S) (2025): It doesn’t always put its best foot forward, but when it does, you can see the stronger game it’d be. Wish I liked it more than I did, but it comes together decently enough and I hope this isn’t the last of Heart Machine.

The fashion choices for Vanity Fear's new leading men of Hollywood issue are baffling and feel like someone walked into that shoot with the explicit goal of character assassination

Uncertain on how to feel about Possessor(s) a couple hours in. I love the aesthetic and vibes, but combat gets annoying too quickly and it feels like the game feels more difficult than it should be. It apparently gets better later on, but it doesn't make a great first impression.

NOW YOU SEE ME 3 (2025): It’s easy to clown on these movies for being weightless and indecisive on the rules of magic, but good direction and energy bring a lot of charm when the script is letting the otherwise solid cast down. Bring on that fourth.

DISPATCH (2025): Good, often rises to great. I like the vibes of the cast and when it’s letting them hang out and the strategy gameplay. Works less when it’s railroading you into narrative choices that are more restrained than they ought to be.

I am a fan of Badlands’ score evoking Prey’s👏🏾
November 7, 2025 at 4:02 PM
PREDATOR: BADLANDS (2025): Pretty good! Stops short of being great whenever it gets too funny or focuses on its cute critter, but Trachtenberg continues to show he’s a good fit for these movies.

BLACK PHONE 2 (2025): Pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable this was. The set pieces are good and it makes the most of the winter setting, but the direction is what really sells it. Let’s just keep it at two movies, though.
