I audited a B2B SaaS campaign burning $15K/month.

Problem?
They were targeting "everyone"

Fix:
1. Created 4 distinct buyer personas
2. Crafted micro-targeted messaging

Result:
Reduced ad spend by 40%
Increased conversions by 67%

Specificity prints money!

Today I rescued a new client's ad budget with this one weird trick:

Actually reviewing their audience targeting.

Their ads were being shown to "small business owners" who turned out to be...

*drumroll*

...kids listing "CEO of my life" in their profiles.

🤦‍♀️

Quick security tip for small business owners who hate tech jargon:

Think your business is "too small" to need 2FA?

My smallest client ($50K/yr revenue) just avoided a $15K fraud attempt because of it.

That's like... 3K cups of coffee they didn't lose ☕

Food for thought.

I asked #ChatGPT the following: What are your top 3 tips for a ____ walking through downtown Berlin on a Thursday at 2am?

Here's what it recommended for a guy vs a woman.

Meanwhile #Gemini identified this as a potentially biased query and pretended it didn't hear me.

This year's Black Friday is a bit too overwhelming. Laying a bit low these few days and doing a lot of unsubscribing from mailing lists...

Happy Thanksgiving, friends! 🦃❤️

I get asked at least 1x/ week if I can generate fake Stripe and PayPal screenshots. I'm really over this public sharing of MMR, revenues, etc.
This practice of sharing MMR feels really strange to me.

I never talk to my friends about how much I make, nor do I ask them about their earnings. This also isn’t common in the startup community offline.

No judgment if you do, it just doesn’t feel right for me.

Balancing raising kids with being a founder is challenging.

I’ve learned:

🗓 be purposeful about what you will NOT miss

👧 talk to your kids about entrepreneurship

🙌 be mission-driven about your WHY

💝 make time for yourself too!

Traffic from Bluesky to @bostonglobe.com is already 3x that of Threads, and we are seeing 4.5x the conversions to paying digital subscribers.

I'm more of a marketing in public and geeking out in public type of person, but I LOVE seeing everyone's #buildinginpublic posts. Keep the creativity flowing!!

Nervous about a meeting with my mentor to review the copy of my sales page. Logically this makes no sense. I confidently review clients' sales pages all the time. But when it gets to my own stuff... Uhhhh whyyyy

A lot of you are struggling with growing your service business where you are doing the “work” of you’re cutting ✂️ hair, doing landscaping, consulting, any manual labor, things that you get paid for by the hour, watch this little silly story and jokes to get the “gist” of how you should think about…

Before you get excited about that 260% conversion rate increase, check if your pixels and tracking codes are actually working 📊

Sunday night coffee-fueled revelation:

9 out of 10 "failing" ad campaigns I audit have the same issue:

They're optimizing for clicks and landing page view instead of conversions.

Optimist: The cup is half full.
Pessimist: The cup is half empty.
Media Buyer: But how many cups are we getting in front of the right audience?
Optimist: The cup is half full.
Pessimist: The cup is half empty.
Data analyst: Either way, there are caveats
Optimist: The cup is half full.
Pessimist: The cup is half empty.

Please no. I love good, creative marketing, but this is an example of what to NOT do. Black Friday is next week. Don't reimagine the calendar.

Who's working on weekends? Saturdays and Sundays are my core BusDev days since that's when my hubby is off work and takes care of the kiddo.

Main goal this weekend: plan the re-org of my business and record that sales page video!

@coachcanham.bsky.social keep me accountable :P

Everyone's like "yay no ads here" and I'm just happy to be away from all that online coaching snake oil that's on other social media platforms. IYKYK @coachcanham.bsky.social 😁
