my kindergartener was excited to share the "cybertruck" (her words) she built out of magna tiles... exact replica. this must have been Elon's design process, stealing his kid's magna tile creation.

on the topic of reading; because the venn diagram of bluesky users and book lovers seems to overlap greatly, behold... the "book wheel", invented in 1588. definitely need this in my life.

supposedly, silent reading first occurred when future St. Augustine went to see his teacher, Ambrose, in Milan, in 384 A.D., and was shocked to witness him looking at a book and not saying anything. read this fact today... wild! imagine being the guy who invented NOT reading out loud 🙌🏼

I have always loved public libraries, but having young children has exponentially increased my gratitude and sense of indebtedness to them. Our local library is such a huge part of our lives. The books, the programming, the very intentionally curated kids’ section. It’s all such a gift.

this is a thread i'm hearing throughout really smart, really successful folks' narratives w/ re: to raising smart, successful kids... index on storytelling! anyone else who is doing this w/ their kids, i'd love ideas for how you're implementing!
