I’ve done it 5 or so times over the past decade, so I’ve made hundreds in steam wallet over that time. You do have to wait a while, but given that the supply is only decreasing while demand is relatively flat it’s all but guaranteed steam wallet gains

They also announce when they are going to stop dropping cases of a certain type. Usually the cases at that point are going for around 5 cents each. I buy $5 worth and hold on to them for ~4 years, and after 4 years they are usually around $2 per case, depending on how much people like the skins
