I read an entire Daniel steel novel. It wasn’t a hate read so much, I did expect to hate it, but it put me in an unprecedented other worldly frame of mind as if I was now part of an ambrosia salad.

These murders are horrible, but they are not new. Does anyone remember the Yemeni drone strikes? Over 1000 dead for something like 8 targets? If you care about this, keep caring and do whatever activism you can about it no matter who's in office.

Caught that too - fog of war - what a dunce. He'll replace upper level leadership with other toadies like him, people who would never get even close to those positions otherwise. I'm watching for tests along the way, weeding out exercises that eliminate those who won't give illegal orders.

Keep them on the defensive folks, good job. Also he should know that 'the fog of war' is not a technical term that excuses illegal actions.

Our Mayor is promoting an ordinance that fines law enforcement officers who arrest people with a mask on. City level is hard, the offenses are minor, but there's stuff you can do to pressure and throw up barriers.

My friends in Dallas are having a rough time now, they are a naturalized Indian and a Black Arkansan. I’m chipping in financially to help some people leave as well, they are a group of trans roommates. It makes me sad for Texas, but I know what you say is true.

Hegseth will do this across military leadership in the run up to the next presidential. There will be a series of tests, increasing illegality, top brass will be fired, and people with no hope of attaining high ranks will be promoted (like him) to the highest leadership ranks.

The duality of Texans is staggering to me sometimes. I'm partially Texan. The people I knew, young and old, could be compassionate, empathetic, inclusive, etc - the best of humanity in one moment, but then bullying, selfish, bigoted, judgmental. While that's normal, it is so extreme there.

Every overt fraud and crime makes him more popular because laws and the government are now the enemy. MAGA has been convinced they are a nation occupied by nefarious foreign forces.

Well off and financially stable people on both the right and left still cling to theories of meritocracy. Rich makes right is still the guiding principle in assistance programs and the philanthropy sector.
