I think that's exactly what you should do.

And I agree this is getting too much coverage, although I'm not a fan of reflexively defending it if it crosses the line from missed citations into plagiarism.

But yeah, #2 story on Google News rn is silly.

Google news homepage shows the Claudine Gay plagiarism story as the #2 story in the country.
