This was such an excellent show. Our vertigo-inducing seats also offered a brilliant birds-eye view of Neil’s theatrics in Our Mutual Friend.

Small joy to get to the end of the working week: tea from my Star Trek mug (and yes, I am wrapped in a blanket, it’s cold ok?)

Started the next step in my roller derby journey and am attempting to learn to ref. It’s damn hard. As seen in these photos showing 1) nervous laughter and 2) sheer panic/no thoughts.

Periodic request! If anyone has 1x End of the Road ticket going spare hmu. (Twickets is still the Wild West and whilst some of our party are sorted we’re still at least one short)

It’s been a very @henrywiddicombe.bsky.social week in our household, as we finally framed our @machcomedyfest.bsky.social ‘22 poster by @drewmillward.bsky.social and also got hold of Henry’s first comic, illustrated by a bunch of legends.
A poster for Machynlleth Comedy Festival 2022 in a wooden frame. The poster is designed by Drew Millward and is fun and colourful with the Mach clock tower as a centre point. To one side of the poster is a comic called “How to Survive an Affair: A Practical Guide”. It is written by Henry Widdicombe and illustrated by many excellent artists. The front of the comic has a red background and features an illustration of Henry looking at a phone, as well as the title and list of illustrators.

Turns out I really didn’t make #RDWC2025 happen here but suffice to say I got to watch lots of my pals and teammates play roller derby in massive venues to elated crowds and it was beautiful. Here are all my Team Wales buddies with the signs we made them 🥰

I was determined to not buy any new roller derby kit in the run-up to my last game. Managed it, but turns out this toe stop barely held on.

Played my last game of roller derby yesterday. It came down to a 3 point game, narrowly losing to a team who we thought would comfortably beat us. My teammates and bench crew were all superstars, the opposition were so friendly, I won an award and we all went for chips on the beach after. Dreamy!
Five roller derby skaters, all in their Tiger Bay Brawlers uniforms. This is my pack and it’s been a joy skating with them this season. Three roller derby skaters in a sports hall, who won awards for Tiger Bay Brawlers in the Tiger Bay vs Bridgend game yesterday. They are all in their orange Tiger Bay tops and two of them have tiger print shorts. Best jammer Peb is on the left and got a white cowboy hat, most valuable player Morgs is in the middle with her pink cowboy hat, and I’m on the right with a black cowboy hat for being named best blocker! Peb took her helmet off to wear the hat. Morgs and I went for the awkward, safety first approach of wearing the hats over our helmets. Yeehaw! Three people on a beach with the sea behind them. On the left is Jenks who also played her last game yesterday, in the middle is our bench coach Sprints in a rainbow gingham dress. I’m on the right and the only one who forgot their sunglasses. Two gigs two nights in a row? What is this, 2016?! Superb stuff from Gindrinker and Wylderness at Canton Libs last night. More done-by-10pm, social-club-down-the-road shows plîs.

Lack of space meaning that the rhythm section have been somewhat caged into the raised area at one side. Always protect your rhythm section.
