Unless the real goal is a giant over-reach of the stated purpose. Have SNAP applicants or recipients ever been given any indication that their data would be used for data mining for enforcement activities unrelated to SNAP? That's how this "Routine Use" reads...

Totally unnecessary exposure of PII - you could using hashing or homomorphic encryption so that PII itself isn't required for finding matches. SWIFT monitors international transactions without any direct PII - why does the Federal government need this for a state-administered program?

This proposed system seems like it is the real abuse of taxpayer dollars. Who's going to measure the ROI on this expensive monument to bigotry?

Is there a reason there are only 10 public comments on this request for input about a national SNAP fraud database? It seeks to not only collect data about recipients, but also about applicants, which would include people who never received a benefit. www.federalregister.gov/documents/20...

I turned a few of your lessons into yard signs that I have outside my home (happens to be a busy street). Maybe you could sell yard signs with lessons or quotes? The crisis can't continue to be invisible in our everyday environment - that increases a sense of isolation.

Fake crisis -> fake procurement urgency -> more vendor lock-in -> much higher costs in the long run... all from a desire for cruelty.

Amazingly misleading reporting. We're in a constitutional crisis and all NYT can do is tell a story about who's up and who's down. Honesty about what's at stake is where they keep falling down no matter how many times it's pointed out. Hell of a social psychology experiment they've got going there.

Inescapably clear statement from ABA. Clarity is a commitment device - they're raising the pressure on themselves to follow through. More of this from other professional societies, please. With follow through! Not the moment for careerist leaders who need certainty that it's safe to do what's right.

To simplify, it sounds unconstitutional and like it violates the Impoundment Control Act. The ICA defines the only legal (and constrained, temporary) way for a president to do any kind of impoundment, which wasn't followed here. So I guess now we're waiting for an emergency injunction.
