I never said right-wing media owned by American billionaires wasn't a threat to Canadian democracy, it obviously is, but Trudeau isn't all sunshine and rainbows and claiming that *everyone* who doesn't like him only doesn't like him because of said billionaires is insane.

He's unpopular for a whole host of reasons, but it's not the media's job to save or sink a politician's career. I'd argue choosing a new leader is, by definition, democratic, especially when the alternative is staying in when members of his own party didn't want him in.

The GST cut is flawed, but sales taxes are the worst kind of taxes as they don't scale to income. If the Liberals throught ahead they would have done it Nov 1-Dec 31 so that people can actually use the savings during the holidays. Poor planning.
