They are one type of game amongst many. I feel that it should be given it's own BGG category. Multiplayer solitaire games are great, but you need to know that from the start, just like as if if I am playing a negotiation game or a co-operative game.

I love the white! It makes the army stand out but it is still gross and disgustingly appropriate.

Walking is the best way to start imo! My wife and I used to walk everyday after work for about 30 mins. It helped break the day up.

Sounds like a good day! Meanwhile I only played one 6 hour game of War of the Ring yesterday... but it was absolutely worth it.

Played War of the Ring for the first time with a buddy! 6 hours of fun(?) that I definitely want to play again. Most of it was a learning game but the story so alive through the gameplay! Having the LOTS soundtrack playing in the background also helps

I correlate price with the number of unique mechanics. This is differs from emergent gameplay complexity, which often isn't reflected in the price. A cheap complex games will likely be more popular in our space than an expensive simple game, as more of the hardcore bg audience wants complexity.

This is very cool! I love the community will create much of the art for this game. If only I was an artist!

It's crazy how fast this game went up and down in hype. I know there are still players but at gencon 2 years ago people were lined up the night before to get their hands on cards

I don't know if it counts, but Discord is also a great place to cultivate strong communities! Not exactly social media though
