Prerelease no. 2 - actually really proud of this build. Had some nice pulls but I think the single summoner and Bard to enable Locke and WoL LB were standouts. Love when you can do some unique deck building in limited.

Prerelease deck number 1 - ended 2-1. I think I generally have a very strong deck. I probably needed more backups, but I didn’t have them in Fire or Ice sadly. Still, I think I did decently. No Raijin - I think the defining card of the prerelease, especially paired with Fujins.

It sucks being a fan of TCGs and wanting to consider branching out and then seeing stuff like this… sure, 18 boxes for a playset of every card is good and normal and healthy. It’s not even egregious compared to other games, it just sucks for everyone.

First competitive season win was the Seymour BGBG LQ - I took Leo this time. Deck is really strong and quite fun to play… although still very degenerate. I didn’t realize until now how much the LB deck helps the strategy.

Huh… this is actually really, really cool. Never expected the FF Magic crossover to actually acknowledge FFTCG’s existence. Going to be really funny when Magic players hold these and realize how amazing FF’s cardboard and print quality is.

This deck is now 6-0 at locals the last two weeks. Figured I’d share it here. Honestly been fun to play a Rydia deck again and the deck is full of small synergies that just feel neat.

Team Draft. It’s a lot of chaff but came together really well - worked well with the limited bombs I found.

Won the AUS Summer Cup with Refia Control. Didn’t drop a game on the day. Swapped in a pair of Brynhildr’s at the last minute - they were amazing all day.

If I had to give Runner Up awards, it’s probably Raijin (why on earth did they print this guy), Leo LB (very likely the most cast card of the entire year) and Curilla (turns out, Collected Company takes a meme deck into the most consistent aggro deck of the year)

Thinking about 2024 in FFTCG, I’m not sure it’s possible to print a card ever again with as large of an impact as Tidus LB. This guy spawned a gazillion decks and was the end goal of everything from Refia to mono-Earth (lol). I can’t imagine the card that changes every deck the way Tidus did.

Ended at 3-5 with these on the day. Wasn’t my day at all - so many unlucky games and bad breaks. Not saying I played it perfectly or anything but I don’t think there was much I could have done. GGs!

3-0 somehow with this pile lol. The Earth package carried really hard which is funny since I think it’s supposed to be a weaker element in limited this set.
