The culprit has been identified as Casper.
Casper has been lectured on being caught on camera clearly wanting to bring a HALF DEAD VOLE INSIDE THE HOUSE at around 5am this morning.
Casper did not appear to care one bit.

The Boys usually leave their “rent” on the grass a little ways away from the back porch. The Human is slightly concerned about this new drop off location.

The Human carefully & from a safe distance encouraged Mr./Mrs. Porcupine to continue on its’ way while Boo 🐱 watched intently.
No kitties, porcupines or humans were harmed. Mr./Mrs. Porcupine was a brief & polite guest. Just passing through.
