Throwback to my live data sonification performance at the Chasseurs d’Orages festival on April 26th 🌩️

Everything was generated from data of a thunderstorm that occurred on August 2024. It was intense, unpredictable, and a real challenge to control live, but I’m quite happy with the result!

Recording of a storm stretched to the extreme, sliced by Make Noisés Morphagene, then synthesised by Rangoon from Big T Music 🌩️ The note sequence is played by the climatic data of the same storm by Data Midi from @manifest.audio on Ableton through Hermod+ by Squarp Instruments.

What could be more fascinating than transforming the migration data of three seagulls named Eric, Nico, and Sanne into music? 🪽

I use data from the LifeWatch INBO project, which includes movements in altitude, latitude, longitude and time data over two years.
