and we can’t exclude trans youth from normal childhood activities. these kids deserve to participate in regular school activities and feel safe being out & living normal lives. so backing out on support here could lead to more harmful roll backs that could make these youth bigger targets for hate.

this rhetoric is harmful for trans ppl. if this was about ‘fairness in sports’ then we’d be talking about standards for competing rather than taking the option away from trans youth. the bill Newsom refers to gives other protections to trans youth so we can’t scrap it.

really bending over for those podcast views…he needs to stop the podcast and actually do something to protect all people living in California from Project 2025, we need a leader who will protect us from harmful ideology not regurgitate them on a podcast

idk i got complex feelings about academia since it can easily be used to reinforce harm and harm communities, but also these cuts are the start of a breeding ground for malpractice and another arm to reinforce systemic oppression

especially since we are already so behind, that cuts like this will be devastating for quality of care for these groups and actually transformative work being made. i have beef with research for it’s past/current problematic roots, but it is also needed to create better systems of care and education

that is fair, i have gone in and out of the listening to hiphop but jpeg and tyler have gotten me back into listening more recently, especially with keeping up with newer releases & exploring more

damn idk how i will lower my expectations, but will def give Atrocity Exhibition a listen. is it more his production not being as great? i like his flow on STH but can see how the production and balance with jpeg may amplify his style

very true, ppl typically see more value in poems they resonate with or ‘don’t need to do as much work to understand’ (may not be the best way to put) which can leave a lot of work overlooked. all to say someone will appreciate it

it’s a good test for valuing your work as an artist as well as centering creation as an outlet in some cases, but it SUCKS to question if something (that was healing to make) is good just cause other ppl aren’t into it
