Sharing RPG stuff and experiences—lately I've been diving into GURPS.
Such an amazing piece of art!

This way, I can bring more people into my #GURPS games!

Key tips for using GURPS Magic 3E with 4E:

Use all 4E rules/tables (skills, rituals, spellcasting).

Spells resisted with IQ? Use Will.

Ignore Snap Shot (SS) on ranged spells—4E doesn’t use it.

GURPS Conan Mass Combat looks very cool btw, I ended up finding this one in a second-hand bookstore.

I was really impressed with how GURPS covers so many different cultures and settings. I haven't seen that many setting books yet, but I have a few on my list. Even the 3E books seem to be very useful, and even the rules section usually doesn't seem too complicated to adapt.

I could elaborate on what I mean by "everything you need to play the game at a minimum", but this thread is already huge, and I'll just end it here.

See you

I've heard of "Powered By GURPS" games focusing on a specific genre. Even then, I think they try to cover so many aspects that they go overboard. If you can fit a game into a single book, with everything you need to play the game at a minimum, it would be simpler to engage new people in the game.

But, the greatest quality of this game is also its biggest barrier to entry. It has rules for everything, and some people try to use them all at once. I know that, regardless of the RPG, I will tweak, adapt, create, and shape the rules to serve the purpose of my campaign. Not everyone does this...

Well, today, GURPS 4E has been my favorite system. I've GMed very little in the game, I'm still finding my feet as a GURPS GM here, I'm working on adapting my HexCrawl rules to the game. And working on adapting my campaign setting to GURPS.

I think it's important to learn about new mechanics and concepts about RPGs in order to improve as a GM. And well, since GURPS said they had rules for everything, it could be a good place to expand the knowledge of a GM who has been in the hobby for 20 years.

So I finally decided to try GURPS.

As an OSR GM who loves simplicity, I say this: #GURPS is the best thing I've ever run. It's a shame I only discovered it recently, and I have a lot of work ahead of me. I never played the 3E tho, only 4E.

About the EFI > Legacy change, I found this: askubuntu.com/questions/91...

Maybe you use a non debian based distro, but maybe it helps anyway
Change from UEFI to Legacy
I have Ubuntu installed on my computer in UEFI Mode. I'd like to change to Legacy BIOS Mode. I need to know can I boot to UEFI Ubuntu on Legacy Enabled?

It's not required to. Just need to install the legacy boot support on grub, and make some changes on fstab. But, obviously EFI boot is faster, so there's reasons to use it.

I had an old Acer laptop that was a mess to use SECURE BOOT, but EFI with secure boot disabled on BIOS had no problems at all

Can't you use legacy boot?
