As a video game art book enjoyer I'm very glad I took the time to put it together (along with Kiefen, the team lead, with whom I shared captioning duties). We even got a short run of physical copies done for the team, which came out great.

My favourite project from last year: a big ol' art book for Monothetic, the indie dev that made Beacon (and I was part of).

The team officially closed up shop at the end of 2024, and I put this together to go alongside the final build of Beacon on the Internet Archive (archive.org/details/beac...)
A 3D render of the finished artbook alongside other items included in the collection uploaded to the Internet Archive. A double-page spread for the start of the Beacon section of the artbook. It uses the iconic (to me) key art from the game across the two full pages, with a strip down the middle of the right-hand page displaying the logo and title of the game. Another spread from inside the artbook, this time focusing on the promotional art created for Beacon. A final double-page spread displaying the many icons used within the game, laid out in white against a dark background that covers each entire page.

Dark days
