My favorite theory that we covered in this class was the Family Communication theory. I feel like it is a very important theory since having healthy communication with your family is so important. #UTcommtheory

My biggest take away from this course is really understanding the importance of communication and how much it really plays a role in our every day lives.#UTcommtheory

I believe that agenda setting theory is still very relevant. The best example that I can think of is my dad's Facebook feed compared to mine. We have opposite political views, our feeds are really both based off of what we believe in. #UTcommtheory

Recent examples that I found was on the use of AI in colleges and the ethics behind it. Many people in universities believe it's unethical and harmful to the education system. #UTcommtheory

I really like Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear. I really love his humor, and the shared passion we both have for cars. #UTcommtheory

Disney is really the elephant in the room when it comes to media ownership. If you look at all the companies that Disney owns such as Marvel and Disney Plus it really shows that theyre a monopoly. They influence values dealing with gender and race. #UTcommtheory

I have made the mistake (on Facebook ) by posting that is totally meant for my friends. However I often forget both my grandparents and other family members can see what I post. I've concerned them on multiple occasions. #UTcommtheory

AI has negatively affected my educational experience because it's so annoying when you turn in an original paper, only to have it flagged by an AI detection software. If the software can't see the difference between my original work and AI, that's a big issue. #UTCOMMTheory

Assertive assimilation is the one I relate with. I never went out with my friends before transferring to UT but now I do because it feels like everyone is.#UTcommtheory

I think one of the industries that could use a culture shift is Nike. Over the years they've only marketed their products to athletes and people who are fit. I feel like it would be more inclusive to appeal to more plus sizes as well. #UTcommtheory

I respond the best to the participation approach. I love when everyone feels comfortable to be able to voice their own thoughts and opinions. it's so important. #Utcommtheory

The decision making approach that I feel that I would choose is participation. I am always a very vocal person at my job and I make sure my team can understand what message I am conveying to them. I also like when we all feel “included” in working on the task at hand. #UTcommtheory

Logos: Studying notes will guarantee you do good on tests. This isn't always true because many people (myself included) are just not good test takers. #UTcommtheory

This is my example of cognitive dissonance. I always try to be productive and I tell myself that I will be productive today. But the majority of the time I will find myself scrolling on Tik Tok for way too long. #UTcommtheory

I agree about the stronger ties with media. My girlfriend and I will communicate through text throughout the day since we have opposite schedules mostly. We also will send each other tiktoks and funny videos. I think that this keeps us engaged with one another. #UTcommtheory

On Facebook I often see a few of my family members posting and sharing their political opinions. Obviously they have the right to do and share what they want, but I personally don't feel like it's the best idea sharing that stuff online where everyone can see it. #UTcommtheory

I think Dwight and Angela from The Office are good examples of inclusion-seclusion. They both have to deal with making time for each other in their busy lives. this often poses a challenge. #UTcommtheory

The axiom that I really like the most is non verbal warmth. At work is have a few mangers and one is a very bad RBF and is honestly just a cold person. My other manager is much more approachable because she aways says hi and smiles when greeting us. #UTcommtheory

I was just beginning to talk with this girl and she just began to dump all this info on me about how her family was toxic and she wanted to move out. I was very turned off, since I literally was talking to this girl for only a week. #UTcommtheory

I grew up in a very consensual family. My parents were very set on the mindset of respect your elders. They also always told me to come to them with anything that im feeling. If I was having a bad day I could go to them about anything. #UTcommtheory

My sister and I are very close, but she moved out of state a few months ago. We try to text everyday, but if one of us is too busy and can't respond right away we normally call to check in on the other to make sure that they're ok. #UTcommtheory

There will be days where I am totally swamped with school work. And on those days I am so tempted to take sometime off work to give myself more time to work on homework. However, I tell myself that I can't do this all the time since I need money lol. #UTcommtheory

In my opinion I found the socio- cultural tradition to be the most interesting one. Studying and learning how different cultures function and to learn about their niches is very cool to me. #UTcommtheory
