The march's route took protesters from DuPont Circle, down toward the National Mall, and around to the White House.

Some protesters jeered at the soldiers. Some took pictures with them. One protester gave a soldier a fist bump.

After MPD created the bike barrier, the march moved on to the White House.

Near the National Mall, the march met about four National Guard soldiers standing near their Humvee.

MPD officers soon formed a barrier with their bicycles in between protesters and the National Guard.
