Development finance, climate change and economic justice.
I keenly read this paper, but in the recent past, I have noticed nuanced mischief in the way some issues are addressed. And this cover’s attempt to tie aid reform to the chaotic and brutal withdrawal of US from foreign development assistance as some chance to revamp the sector is in itself faulty.
Foreign aid’s demise will be brutal and chaotic. But it offers an opportunity to rethink an inefficient system that has long needed an overhaul econ.st/4kqbjyW

‘I think there is life there. Today’: the race to put a human on Mars – in pictures
Ever since the first fuzzy images of its surface were captured in 1964, Mars has sparked imaginations worldwide. As Nasa publishes its photographic archives of the red planet, will Elon Musk’s wild predictions of a crewed flight in four years come true?…

Beautiful ending 😅. “They should desist. Notre Dame should belong to everyone, and anyone who wants to score cheap points off the achievement of its restoration can eat lead dust.”

Congratulations Rebekah. Looking forward to working with you.
Honored to announce I've been appointed to the Maryland Clean Energy Center advisory board, where I'll help shape policy that prioritizes equity and inclusion in the clean energy transition!

A green future must benefit those most vulnerable to climate change impacts.

Incisive read. Thank you for sharing!
A great piece by @radiofreetom.bsky.social:

“The early-20th-century Peruvian strongman Óscar R. Benavides once stated a simple principle that Trump now appears to be pursuing when he said: ‘For my friends, everything; for my enemies, the law.’”
My piece on Patel is up. (Gifted here. Thanks, Bluesky folks.)

This morning I dragged myself out of bed at 3:00 to head to the West End Bridge in hopes of capturing the moon over PPG Place and the Christmas tree at the Point in #Pittsburgh. Luckily the clouds stayed away for long enough to allow that to happen. Made for an amazing view.
