Out of these four Blue and For Your Pleasure would stay for me. Currently both, one or neither may make my 5. Blue because of the storytelling and emotion matched by fine tunes. FYP as it sees Roxy Music move from a stunning debut to be masters of their craft. #5albums70sfinal

Glad I’ve still got another week to go. Currently I have 4 Bowie albums, 3 Floyd, 2 Stones, 2 Ramones, 2 Clash and around 12 others vying for 5 places! #5albums70sfinal

I often think this is Bowie’s most underrated album. It’s worth listening to just for Mike Garson’s piano playing.

Thanks once again Richard. #5albums70s5

Great album. I also love Let Me Roll It which has subsequently made a great live song.

Fantastic album but I’d go for Sweet Virginia or Sweet Black Angel for best track. #5albums70s5

A definite contender for my 5. I’ll stick with my “one album per artist” rule otherwise the Stones may have edged this out with two fantastic albums in this group. #5albums70s5

Thanks again Richard. After finalising my picks over the last three weeks I had a busy weekend and missed the deadline. Thankfully my votes wouldn’t have changed anything. 😂 Already working on #5albums70s5 picks!

I love this album although it is some time since I played it through. Maybe time to revisit it.

Listened to the complete album yesterday, although I’ve played most of the tracks frequently over the past few years. A collection of high quality blues-pop songs with every one a singalong jewel. Despite that, probably not in my 5. #5albums70s4

I remember being so disappointed init when it came out. Regrettably that feeling hasn’t changed. #5albums70s4

Played it the other day. I’d forgotten how much I enjoy it. #5albums70s4

I hadn’t listened to it for a while so sat down and listened to the whole thing earlier today. No wonder I bought it back then. Such a great album! #5albums70s4

It’s a good question. I sold off several hundred vinyl albums a few years ago to raise funds for the local scouts. I’m back up to 400 ish vinyls and probably 600+ CDs but many haven’t been played for years.

One of Springsteen’s best I think. NYC Serenade is great but I also love 4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy). Rosalita & Kitty’s Back are better live I think.

Bought the album straight after hearing them on OGWT. Then managed to see them live 3 or 4 months later - as support to Mott The Hoople! A great debut album but probably not in my 5.

Ramones? Roxy Music? REM?

Changes with each listen. FYP maybe just edges it right now but what a debut album!
