Individually we have no influence, money talks. So lets make the money talk.

Every time the government says "we are putting more police on the streets for your protection" or, "we need these laws to keep the country or your children safe".. Ask yourself, how will this get used in time against me? They only need the door opened a crack to keep adding to that new law
