I mean 1999’s Echo is pretty solid. “Swingin’” “Billy the Kid” .. others.. Stellar playing. Either of those songs could be given a nice live workout by DBT

I saw them perform a lunchtime show at the new Borders Bookstore in Boston, spring of ‘96… just after Colossal Head was released. Weird place for them to play. But it didn’t stop Hidalgo from wailing…

So many great albums here. The less than obvious choices are fun. Moby Grape’s debut, FBB’s Gilded Palace of Sin, Ray’s Modern Sounds, JB’s Live Apollo (either/both!), Monk’s Genius vols, B Evans 2 VVanguards, all deserve a shout-out (tho not a top 5)
