I post about stuff I feel strongly about. Lately that is, roughly in order,

cooking
the web, local-first
politics, society
religion (non-toxic)
my cat

Sometimes I feel these topics don't overlap well, but they're all a part of who I am in some way.
My intuition on this is heavily tainted by my own bias as a person of faith, but I nonetheless feel confident that if we manage to get out of this it will involve a cultural reclamation of religious power from Republicans.

"My sincere desire is to see ICE agents delivered from the wickedness which binds their souls, and for all whom they have kidnapped & brutalized to be restored to the communities where they choose to belong."

Ok React Compiler did break all my Verdant reactivity when I turned it on, now I'm wondering whose fault that is.

Looks like I'm gonna have to read the output.

I'm a fan of React Compiler if only because it allows me to tie a campaign to get people to stop turning off Rules of Hooks linters to a measurable and 1:1 performance goal instead of the nebulous and ignored 'may cause bugs.'

When I watched TNG and everyone was disrespecting Data I thought, I'll never do that kind of thing.

Now that we actually have to confront it I find it's a lot harder to not get polarized into it.

I don't believe these are people but I do think it's better (for me) to act humanely anyway.

The rot in Christianity began early when they began believing God killed Jesus and not the church + state.

Worship that God enough and you're ready to kill Jesus again. And so it has gone.

After a lot of preparation, I'm moving biscuits.club over to Cloudflare today. Durable Objects are such a good fit for local-first tenants, whereas my single-VPC approach scaled fine but suffered as a single point of failure.

CHOTINER: What kind of unit test coverage do you shoot for?

ME: Oh, always well over 90%.

CHOTINER: And I can tell you value a consistent style.

ME: The secret is tooling, always. You need rigorous automated enforcement.

CHOTINER: So you must have shipped a lot of products.

ME: Well, you see,

It was only this year that I, a left-handed person, learned that people move their fork from one hand to the other after using it with a knife to cut something.

A rare win for left handedness but I'll take it.

A while back I put in my phone number on a checkout kiosk thinking I was signing in for loyalty, not realizing I was claiming someone else's points and associating their card.

Now I occasionally get random Cash App notifications from their purchases and I feel bad, but also this seems not good.
