Thanks to a field trip grant from the Carlsberg Foundation I am carrying out archival research in Bogotá, and I can tell I have been enjoying my daily walk to work.

I arrived in Berlin after a long and exciting journey through six countries (okay, I admit I saw next to nothing of Lithuania). All you need for slow conference travel is time.

On my return trip from #WCEH2024 in Oulu to Berlin, I spent the night on a train to Helsinki. Now I am waiting for the ferry to Tallinn, where I'll get on a bus to Warsaw.

I should add that I arrived in Oulu after a very smooth journey from Berlin of around 45 hours. On my way back, I'll try the Eastern route via the Tallinn and Warsaw. Slow science is the way, but of course this is only possible because others are taking over my share of care work on two weekends...

I left Tampere with a delay of 2 h. At Turku Port station there was some mess involving a cancelled train and a misguided replacement bus. Locals told me such things never happen here, so I feel quite privileged to have experienced it. Now soon arriving in Oulu

Cool: The Revista Brasileira de Geografia featured article summaries in Esperanto. This one is from Leo Waibel, Uma viagem de reconhecimento ao sul de Goiás (1947).
How common was this?

Surprised to see several bronze sculptures from the Kingdom of Benin in the Museu Oscar Niemeyer, Curitiba, Brazil, today. They are part of an impressive African art collection donated to the museum by private collectors a couple of years ago. Would be great if the exhibition provided more context.

"Fehler im System" von Peter Schilling fasziniert mich seit meiner Kindheit. Es beschäftigt sich mit den grossen Themen unserer Zeit (Klimakrise, imperiale Lebensweise, KI, Krieg, globale Ungleichheit etc.). Viele musikalische Perlen, in der Rezeption zu Unrecht auf Major Tom reduziert.
