I never could relate to people who sought more for themselves. I just never saw the point for myself. Everything just always felt so pointless, completely devoid of meaning. Where would I go? What would I do? I wonder if Ester will come to feel that way at some point, having done what she's done?

There's usually an adaptation phase when dealing with things that one isn't used to. That goes for everyone to varying degrees. We are limited by our own perspectives & experiences, but we're also capable of learning & growing beyond ourselves through others.

Well, it is, but that's not all it is. There's always more nuances to be grasped beyond the surface. Oftentimes, we have to comb through those nuances to gain a better understanding of things.

Yeah. Think it comes from a fear of rejection. You want to do something you like, but the fear of them saying no, or worse, making you feel dumb for liking the thing makes us not want to reveal anything that could potentially harm our standing with those we care about. Ridiculous, but that's life.
