The closest comparison I can make is the productivity enhancements by a word processor like Microsoft Word. Individually, probably not a lot of man hours saved compared to alternatives. But at scale? Who knows?

I finetuned a LORA for an open sourced LLM model on my own writing. It mirrors my style, competently at times even. But it sucks.

Its incapable of writing things I care about. Incapable of surprising. Incapable of exciting. Its just tropes all the way down. Nothing new.
