and some other patio residents. my sister and i got matching goose statues from Michael's after they went bust
my 1-pot herb garden. in the center and most of the left side is a sprawling catnip plant, with a viney oregano plant at 6 o'clock, a really healthy looking thyme at the 3 o'clock and a cool creeping rosemary at 12 o'clock. all of these are creeping/viney varieties so they can take over the patio. it'll smell damn good too a white goose statue resting on a couple of bricks to keep it from being utterly wrecked by my very flood prone patio. next to it is a large faded green plastic watering can an amaryllis plant with a few long, broad, bright green leaves. the one sad leaf on the ground was it's only leaf for the longest time, but now it's taking a well-earned rest. i can't believe people throw these plants away after the blooms fade!

also got some fruits and veggies! there's tomatoes too, but nothing to show yet
a photo of a small yet rapidly growing watermelon vine. supposedly they'll be compact, and hopefully won't consume my patio a large long pepper (Marconi i think?), still deep green in color. it will turn bright red when ready, and is supposed to be slightly sweet and flavorful. guess we'll see! also the tomato plants are lurking behind the pepper plants. a small pale green long skinny pepper growing on the plant. these are "hot bananas," and my decision to plant them was approximately 60% incredible name, 40% i like spicy food a close up of a cluster of strawberries in various stages of growth. some are still very small and white, a few are pinkish, and there's a brilliant red berry in the center that will probably be ripe like tomorrow. these plants rule, i bought them on clearance last spring and they somehow survived winter outside. they're supposed to be ornamentals but obviously these plants do not care about expectations

The petals have a curly/wrinkly texture on the edges. close up shot of a blooming pale purple rose surrounded by 3 buds of the same color. this was one of those junk roses you occasionally see at the grocery store (and look at him now!) a close up shot of firey orange lily flowers with a yellow ridge down the center of each petal. there's a reddish blush on each petal around the curved red-orange stamens, and a golden yellow center. the flower stalks got so tall this year that these are at eye-level (and i'm 5'8"/ 174 cm for reference) a shot focused on the blooms of a hydrangea with soft pink clusters of flowers and glossy dark green leaves.

A catnip plant that i bought from a local greenhouse. the roots are packed so tightly that it doesn't look like there's any soil, and are formed in the exact squarish shape of the nursery pot
