Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate progress. But let’s also talk about the hidden barriers still holding women back.

At home, women predominantly carry the mental load of parenting: tracking school admin, remembering extracurricular schedules and organising their kids' social life.

At this time of year, school emails seem to peak with us parents needinh to remember something every day, which is frankly mentally exhausting as we still have our own lives and work to organise too, often with increased pressures and impending deadlines as we take leave over the Xmas period.

POV: When you excitedly dash out to pick up a new gadget that you've been wanting for 6 months but then can't bring yourself to get it out of the box as you realise now you not only have to magically make space for it but you also need to learn how to use 😫

Had a bit of fun at the local light up show advertising my new so for overwhelmed parents 😁

The last remaining pumpkin/squash from Halloween that I haven't quite managed to do anything with yet. It's too hot to throw away but not something I would normally cook!

Youngest has decorated it with a leaf to try and give it a new life 🤣

I think I may have chosen the wrong tools for the job...

It was tasty though and I didn't make too much of a mess!

- Taking down the washing while eating lunch
- Hanging up the washing while chatting with my girls.
- Playing with the cat, a lot (very important!!)

I took my mum out for lunch and some shopping therapy yesterday and a lovely lady in one of the shops gave me these. They definitely made me smile. Now looking for the right opportunity to pass them on ☺️

Catching up on some work while my youngest does some climbing. You need to use every opportunity to get stuff done and this way I can spend the evening with my girls (plus the off wave and timed climb while we're here!)

The lie-in saboteur!

Each week me and my hubby alternate kids clubs on a Saturday morning so we can each get a lie in every other week. Unfortunately this guy yowled and scratched at the bedroom door until I let him in and insisted on playing!
