Have you talked to your vet about it? It might be possible to medicate him for his aggression. Of course getting the medication into him is another issue.

Oh jeez. It's crazy how strong cats can be, my Diesel is strong too. He doesn't claw me though, just nips/bites. (Well, "just." He leaves red marks sometimes but never breaks the skin.) But I can empathize a little, cats can be SO frustrating.

How does he feel about water? Maybe just squirt him when he acts up?

Damn. Would getting his claws trimmed regularly help at all?

Get him claw caps? You'd probably have to have someone else put them on him, but then he wouldn't be able to do as much damage.
