Matthias Uckert’s JMP studies the drivers & dynamics of accounting terminology standardization, showing cognitive/dialectal causes are key drivers; IFRS/XBRL increase standardization, and standardization is associated w/ data quality in acc DBs.

Qi Gao's JMP studies firms' greenhouse gas emission disclosure and investment decisions. She identifies different disclosure equilibria and shows that disclosure mandates may reduce emission abatement incentives.

Patricia Breuer’s JMP explores distributional & welfare effects of financial info. Findings suggest that transparency concentrates econ activity among larger firms, which may result in efficiency gains, but come at the cost of greater market power.

(8/8) @BeateThies’ JMP studies how air pollution affects highly-skilled knowledge workers. Using data on a global sample of software developers, she finds that pollution exposure reduces productivity + induces changes in task choice and working hours.

4/8 @carl_groh studies the relationship b/w data & market power in a model of consumer search. In the model, even small data advantages can make it optimal for consumers to only visit a firm w/ better data, granting this firm market shares close to 1.

(3/8) @Econ_Gasparini's JMP develops a NK-DSGE model w/ financial frictions + oligopolistic banks. Uncertainty shocks decrease output by more when banking competition is lower. The result is consistent with the empir evidence provided in the paper.
