I'm not sure that assembling a force of over 50 Riders of Rohan was necessarily a good thing. Not sure exactly where I'll ever use them in a game. But it feels great to have them at my disposal. A multi- eored force. Painting takes me forever. Hey ho

Drumburgh Moss today. A very rare example of a lowland raised mire which gets all its water from rain. Lots of dragonflies. Saw a few pairs of Stonechats. A snipe flew past. A few swallows. Heard a blackcap.

Yep. They're the ones. I needed a few dozen Riders and couldn't justify the GW price. I've got a mix of 20 year old original GW and the resin models by Davale. Look good together.

Next part of the project - printed 'West Human' riders from Davale. Poses are more dynamic than GW. Particularly like the standard bearer. About the right size. Assembly is a bit of a fiddle. #rohan #lotr #lordoftherings

And the Riders are now faced with an army from Isengard. Uruk-Hai painted 20 years ago and deffo ready for the tabletop, though I might add to the basing. Lutz particularly scary looking.
