it's been pretty easy so far tbh like half of my upcoming projects have major trans fem characters in them.

I can't blame people for taking everything as an attack on their identity I 100% get why, but I think it's important to look and understand why people want sapphic to not be about character identity but about the type of story being told and if it centers a wlw relationship.

Their getting from a story the same way other genre tags do. Since for many it's not about the characters you can have sapphic characters in every story even ones not labeled or marketed as queer in any way but instead its about the content of the story itself, and that should be what matters most.

Cause it doe suck to have to dig through reviews to see if a book being hyped up and marketed as sapphic actually centers a wlw relationship, and idk if its just a me thing but how people throw sapphic on just about everything has eroded my trust in what should be a way for readers to know what. 5/

they don't mean it as a personal attack on you or your characters. Instead it comes from the desire to have a word that makes wlw stories easy for readers to find that they can have trust in. So when they pick it up they know its gonna be a wlw story, and I think that's a completely fair want. 4/

People have with "sapphic books" is that when people use it a lot of the times they are referring to is a a genre of story where a wlw relationship is front and center to the plot and one of those characters is the protagonist. They are treating it the same way yuri/gl is treat in asia as a genre 3/

Please bare with me on this and follow along I know my first post probably made people mad, but hear me out. Would you recommend or call a series like naruto a romance? No right cause it doesn't match the criteria of the genre even if characters in it do get together. This is the same issue 2/x
