Trump: Making America Hungry Again
November 4, 2025 at 7:43 PM
The Trump admin spends $173 million on luxury jets for Kristi Noem instead of using the money to save tens of thousands of children's lives. How any intelligent and caring person could support Trump and his corrupt sycophants is a mystery to me.

State and local museums/historic sites are of increasing importance as the authoritarian Trump admin eviscerates the independence of U.S. museums/historic sites. I was pleased to curate "Booker T. Spicely: Citizen, Soldier, Martyr, Hero" at Museum of Durham History, Durham, NC.

Anyone who supports the Republicans is literally in favor of taking food from children. Despicable!!

Instead of hurting the most vulnerable Americans (the Trump Republicans plan) by cutting health care and federal food assistance, we could save more money by not cutting taxes for Americans making over $500,000 per year.

On Mother's Day, I'm thinking about Alberta Spicely (1879-1958). Her son, Pfc. Booker T. Spicely, was shot and killed by a white bus driver, after he resisted moving to the back of a segregated Durham bus in July 1944. (Photo of Alberta Spicely courtesy of Artrelle Spicely)
