The Family Resources Survey (FRS) is a continuous household survey which collects information on topics such as income, housing tenure, care needs, disability, education, pension participation and more. NatCen has carried out data collection for the survey every year since it launched in 1992. 🧵

We were commissioned to explore the experiences of minority ethnic apprentices. Findings highlight key barriers, including limited awareness and perceptions in the family network, financial challenges, experiences of racism, and regional and sectoral inequalities.

At this year's Sir Roger Jowell Memorial Lecture, Jane Falkingham spoke about how families are changing, with more people now part of four generations. Using UK data, she showed how people, especially women, juggle jobs and caring responsibilities during what she called the "new rush hour of life".
