The US style of political reporting has long been to ask a question, await a response then ask the next question from their pre-prepared list. It isn't a new thing. Only a few have been more European in the style of: ask, listen, probe the answer or ask why they didn't answer.

In the case of a good read or atmospheric film, it doesn't matter really.
