When pricked, I immediately bleed either Beethoven or Brubeck, and not necessarily in that order. For over 35 years, I work by Design for the love of Design. Really wanted to be a physicist when I grew up, but I am too easily distrac
Your identity design is a tool you will use for many yrs. It is a FLAG that explains what you are all about. It tells potential clients what they can expect, & if you are well-managed––or NOT––as the case may be. What is the value of any other tool you use for 5+ yrs?? @designonething.bsky.social

Today is the anniversary of the famous photograph The Blue Marble. Here is the Christmas greeting from the Apollo 8 crew that captured it in 1968. It gives me chills to listen to it.

Happy Birthday Stuart Davis
December 7, 1892 - June 24, 1964

Love his work. He was well known for his jazz-influenced paintings of the 1940s & 1950s––bold, brash, and colorful. It combines three of my loves: art, graphic design, & jazz.

Big data is so valuable to marketers and advertisers. But when you think about it, the things that are really valuable in life cannot be measured. Social Media thinks you are a data point. To me, you are a friend! What things should be listed on your balance sheet?

#Startups: you have a brand from DAY ONE of your small business, whether you have given it any thought or not. If you wait till you have cash flow, your brand will have formed by default, whether for good or for bad. Don't let your Brand happen by accident. Nothing great ever happens by accident.

Abraham Lincoln's business card.

It was on this day in 1839 that 30-year-old Illinois state assemblyman Abraham Lincoln was admitted to practice law in the United States Circuit Court. Lincoln knew better- business cards do not have to be boring. Anything but boring. (Read the fine print!)

70 years ago OTD, #RosaParks stood up for #CivilRights by sitting down. This is the problem with history. We never know when we are making it. Let justice run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream. Amos 5:24

The Pessimist: My cup is half empty.
The Optimist: My cup is half full.
The Realist: Technically, my cup is completely full, half water & half air.
The Thankful: My cup overflows. Psalm 23:5

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

My cup is overflowing, today & every day! Great is God's faithfulness!

It's the 110th Anniversary of E=MC squared. If you love science, this is a fabulous documentary about the history and background of Einstein's theory. It's one of my favs. I've watched it three times. I'd watch it again.

Short weeks for Entrepreneurs usually look like this. Here's where our skill sets really shine, because the work load is the same––it's just that you just have to cram 5 days into 3. Or 5 days into 2 1/2. It's a real juggling act. But the week ends in PIE, so it can't be all bad.

I distinctly remember the day. My Mother was openly weeping. Outloud. Even if I was not old enough to understand the full ramifications, I learned more about the news from my Mother's tears than I ever learned from the TV. Thanks Mom, for showing me the proper response to such an unspeakable loss.
