On the plus side, you occasionally get glimpses of friends and that weird guy from high school through the van window

These the same voters who made Teump President?

Twice?
November 13, 2025 at 7:23 AM
I don't understand why the word 'toxic' is in that sentence
November 13, 2025 at 6:43 AM
Clearly, the key is to be ok with sounding like an utter moron.

Do people want 'slutty seller of airport novels' instead?
November 13, 2025 at 12:10 AM
It was voted for, yeah?

8 Dem / ind senators approved this?

Nobody here is arguing that nobody should have a car. Most cyclists have a car, myself included. You're addressing issues that aren't being raised by others in this thread.

If your argument is "Zealots who want everyone to ride ebikes are wrong", then I think you'd get consensus here.

A standard, non-pedal assisted bicycle would be just as dangerous in this situation.

Your objections don't seem all that rational, to be honest.
November 12, 2025 at 8:22 PM
Well, yeah. Most people don't, actually. And a standard bicycle would fare no better in that situation.

E-bikes work brilliantly for many cyclists, no matter how grumpy you choose to be about the concept.
November 12, 2025 at 8:18 PM
Yeah. They're a godsend.
November 12, 2025 at 8:02 PM
Absolutely, and no registration fee!
November 12, 2025 at 2:08 PM
Dunno what you're thinking of, but a speed limited pedal assisted ebike - the one in the drawing - is very much a bicycle.
November 12, 2025 at 2:07 PM
My ebike's more expensive than my car. Tho my car is a 28 yo POS. :)

I bought a kiddie trailer for mine. I can transport my Jack Russells, or enough of my music kit for a rehearsal. Love it.
November 12, 2025 at 2:03 PM
I'm guessing that J. Truin never had to give up bike riding due to lung disease, only to get back on the road once they bought an e-bike?

No? Still. Champagne comedy. Top shelf gag.

Not so much. There are a ton of domestic parallels between nazi Germany and the USA. Japan under Tojo operated differently.

In short, the number in this meme is wrong.

Like so much to do with the USA currently.

Hirohito didn't speak like Trump

So Herman Hesse is banned, but not Ayn Rand.

That list frightens me, as a reader, a librarian and a parent.

I continue to be grateful that I drew Australia in the birth lottery.

Casual racism and overt misogyny?

I'd marry the concept of modular synthesis if those Fools at the registry office would just join the 21stC
November 12, 2025 at 6:19 AM
So I can ficky ficky my 7yo sister?

Sure, it's illegal, but so is abortion and same sex marriage depending on where you live.

I get to claim freedom of religion?
November 12, 2025 at 6:16 AM
He's dead. Are people seriously still posting clickbait garbage like this?
November 12, 2025 at 5:00 AM
That looks well worth a read. Cool!
