As long as there is no believable plan to phase out burning fuels such as trees, coal, oil, and gas, COP doesn't mean a thing. Managing our environment is the ultimate intelligence test for the human species as a whole, and so far we are failing that test.

Several "you got to be kidding me" moments here. No spoilers (watch this thing!) but this one is really incredible. The level of naiveté is something there are no words for.

Not all the SF that they fancy is horrible. What is wrong is that they don't take it as (often a warning) fiction but as something one should want to realise. Still, I agree all this stuff is pure drivel from a realistic point of view. But realism (and what it requires) is out of fashion.
