You describe Ireland as “dirty “. That’s a term used by anti semites. As for Ireland being anti semitic, we are not hating Jews, we are very critical of the Israeli genocide in Palestine & the West Bank, just like being very critical of government practices in apartheid South Africa.

If we look back through history in Europe, some countries stood up against racists and genocide. Some countries looked the other way. I’m proud of RTE for this stance against racism & genocide.

Denaming a park commemorating a dead distinguished former citizen is a petty nasty move by minor politicians designed to say “ look how great we are”. It also says they regard any person ever associated with Israel, in a negative way no matter how far removed from Israel’s present war crimes.

This is almost funny. If people don’t like paying for parking, why don’t they go elsewhere? The answer is that every other big shopping centre charges. If people can afford a car, surely they can afford occasional parking. Best of all, try the bus or walking.

The Nuremberg trials established that ; “ I was following orders” is not a defence for the criminal actions of government officials or military personnel. Trump may escape. His officials may not.

I hope Ukraine retains it dignity. It has huge potential in the EU. The US sadly has lost its dignity. What country in the world, apart from Israel, would trust the US or depend on its friendship? Sadly we’re seeing a declining US.

I’m Irish. The BBC is a great British institution that gives so much. It is the epitome of soft power & influence. Its defence is critical.

1) in your post is part of the reason the UK ended up with Brexit. You start by insulting/ blaming a European or the EU. The UK has been doing that for generations. 2,3,4) they wouldn’t have got elected if they started by saying that Brexit would be a disaster. They waited for the evidence to show.

Significant emigration is bad for a country. For South Africa to lose large amounts of white citizens would be very bad.

Why don’t the Democrats see this as an advantage and hold their own parliament styled meetings in public. They would control the messaging & get plenty of publicity.

Some in the Uk seem to believe that it is their right to get a better deal with EU. However, you may not like it but a deal has been agreed. If there are to be any changes, there have to be comparable gains for the EU also.

The strange thing is that the people of the US, are being comprehensively deprived of their liberties & don’t seem to mind. Maybe we’re seeing a loss of the US republic just as Rome ceased to be a republic & became an empire. That didn’t end well.

You’re unfair. The UKGOV know the situation. They mostly voted remain. The UK now mostly thinks Brexit was a mistake. However, that doesn’t mean the UK wants to rejoin. Also, there’s no sign of a EU appetite for significant change. What happens if Reform/Tory government is elected in four years?

Taxes in Ireland are much lower than France. Taking to the streets as in France, does not solve their high deficit problems, it just kicks them down the road.

Is prospective voters want to see what SF is like in government, they should look at their performance in Northern Ireland. The record is pretty low.

How is it a good protest, to disrupt those who support the cause? The affect will be to annoy supporters of the cause. Israel won’t even notice it. I suspect others with different motives are exploiting the Palestinian cause and will damage it.

I’m totally in support of Palestinian rights. I think Israel is committing war crimes. I’d guess that most Irish people agree. Why would demonstrators block the the port tunnel? It seems such an own goal against the Palestinian cause, unless others , like Murphy, just seem a cause to be exploited.

Imagine what the worst possible American president would look like. Betray allies, destroy the health system, destroy the education system, the intelligence system, the budget, freedom of speech, separation of powers in government. Well you’ve got it. Lesser countries would fight back.
