Just saw Trevor Horn come on stage to play one song (video killed the radio star) with Sting's support act. Great effort!

Marching for Palestine shouldn't be still necessary, but it is more than ever. Proud to be one of the 600,000 marching through London today to commemorate #nakba77.

It doesn't make sense to simultaneously be anti-immigration and anti-funding for international development. The best way to limit immigration is to help make every country prosperous and fair so that people don't need to leave. That is the purpose of International Development.

The police harassment of Stephen Kapos, an 87-year-old Holocaust survivor, for laying flowers in Trafalgar Square on January's march for Palestine is an gross act of suppression by the government.

These attacks on our right to protest must be defeated.

@stuartmaconie.bsky.social You played my song Ibrahim, featuring Robert Wyatt, a few years ago on Freakzone. Fact related to this morning's show: I first heard of Robert because Tears for Fears (my favourite band) dedicated I Believe to him. Then he agreed to sing on one of my songs - amazing.

@eyesack.bsky.social This is why it's great that Barnes and Noble still sell CDs and why people should buy them.

Absolutely
Excellent piece. He refers to Twitter throughout but it applies here too. We are, so often, the problem we’re complaining about.

@ladymissbarton.bsky.social From your Prospect bio... Pretty sure I pre-ordered it in 2022. Any updates?

Isn't it interesting that the media use the term Oligarch almost exclusively for Russians, but no-one ever refers to Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos as Oligarchs, though they would satisfy the same definition?

Spotify just reported record-breaking profits.

In totally unrelated news, Spotify stopped paying nearly 90% of artists on the service ANYTHING (no royalties for songs w <1k streams/year)

Happy birthday to my favourite album of all time, The Seeds of love. 35 years old today. I still love it as much as when I first heard it and hear something new in it occasionally (despite listening to it at least once a week).

It's been 8 years and time I promoted this release. It's a beautiful 10" Vinyl and features the amazing Robert Wyatt, as well as a lovely New Order cover: theinterruptingsheep.bandcamp.com/album/ibrahi...

@harkaway.bsky.social I've got a great idea, but no time to write it. If you want to then go ahead. It's a gritty 1970s set spy thriller which also happens to be a jukebox musical. It's called "Tina Turner Soldier Spy".

This is really important. Spotify users take note (I'm not one of them. Though most of my releases are on Spotify I will never use it, I buy my music).
